After learning to sew from her Oma years ago, Lana turned her love of making things from scratch into a successful, full time business - LANA.NAS Studio! From long hair to short hair, thick or thin, Lana's headscarves are made to suit everyone.
Using certified sustainably sourced fabrics, Lana aims to make products that make women feel good about themselves as well as doing their part to help the planet. "I think it is very important that we all do our part to make this world a better place for everyone. I have had the privilege to meet some of the people who make my fabrics, which has been amazing and eye opening."
Originally from the Netherlands, Lana moved to Australia in 2014. She started working on her brand the following year but it wasn't until 2018 that she decided to take the leap and turn her love into a small business. Everyday, Lana works on her brand from sewing, creating new patterns, planning her social media to improving her website.
Lana's biggest inspiration is her family, the women in her life and the people she has met during her travels. Her mum was actually the reason Lana.Nas Studio came to life after learning about an old headscarf she used to wear in her days of being a 'festival hippie'. Her sister Lotty is also very creative! Founder and maker of her own brand 'Pango & Linn', Lotty lives in South Africa and create small hand stitched leather. She raises awareness and funds for the protection of the pangolin, one of the most trafficked mammals in the world!
In Lana's spare time, you'll see her at the beach with her partner Jimmy and their dog Fritz. They love the ocean and try to spend as much time in, on or near it! Travelling and experiencing new countries and cultures is also something they both adore.
