VICTORIA MCGRANE - THE SCENIC ROUTE
The Scenic Route is the creative project of artist and textile designer Victoria
McGrane. Her intricately hand illustrated work is inspired by her love of travel as she
explores the amazing landscapes, colours, flora and fauna of Australia.

A daydreamer with a big imagination, Victoria best conjures up ideas when
surrounded by nature. That’s why she’s travelling around Australia in Daisy, a 1990
Toyota Coaster which has been lovingly converted into a motorhome. Her home on
the road, furnished with The Scenic Route textiles, is designed for off-grid living with
solar panels, solar battery storage and water tanks.
Her eco way of travelling reflects Victoria’s desire to minimise her footprint. This
passion for sustainability led her to team up with Rainforest Rescue, designing fine
art prints of the Daintree to raise funds for the not-for-profit. It’s also why she uses
eco-friendly and sustainable raw materials, minimal packaging and recycled
materials in her business wherever possible.

Being inspired by the ever-changing sights she comes across, Victoria channels this
into The Scenic Route. With her sketchbook tucked under her arm and her camera
at the ready, she observes the beautiful plants, animals, colours and landscapes that
cross her path.
With a background in visual arts, a distinctive creative aesthetic and a career in
fashion and textile design, Victoria has collaborated with notable European and
Australian brands to create unique surface print designs. At her happiest and most
productive when working on new prints, Victoria is available for commissions and
bespoke designs.
